The Drawn Blank Series | Bob Dylan

Marking Bob Dylan’s first foray into fine art publishing, this groundbreaking collection reimagines sketches Bob Dylan created between 1989 and 1992 whilst touring America, Europe and Asia.

Originally published in his Drawn Blank book in 1994, the series of landscapes, hotel scenes and nudes was transformed using watercolour paint and gouache during an eight-month period in 2007. After digitally enlarging the original drawings and transferring the scans onto deckle-edged paper, Dylan created an impressive 320 original paintings, including the four first-ever ‘Train Tracks’ images.

Since its original release in 2008, the collection has been reimagined and expanded to create fresh interpretations of some of his most recognised works, including ‘Woman In Red Lion Pub’, ‘Sunflowers’, ‘Bell Tower In Stockholm’ and ‘Man On A Bridge’.

The Drawn Blank Series: 10th Anniversary

Marking 10 years since the first publication of The Drawn Blank Series, this carefully-selected collection captures the true essence of Dylan’s original artworks.

Tobias Rüther of the Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper likens the artist’s reimagining of his art to ‘…that which he’s done for years on the stage - performing new versions of his old songs in order to give a fresh interpretation’.

All of the graphics are printed on Hahnemühle Museum Etching paper and are personally hand-signed by Dylan.
