October brings a superb selection of new releases which are bound to please a wide range of collectors. There are new works from landscape artist Paul Corfield, whose vision of the beautiful English countryside is eternally popular, to the street-art influenced urban pieces of Dan Lane, and finally, a special wildlife sculpture from Steve Winterburn – we really do have art for everyone.
Paul Corfield, one of Castle Fine Art’s most popular artists, returns with an autumn collection of six limited edition works from his Becoming collection which are sure to raise the spirits of art lovers as we enter the darker days of the year. His contemporary landscapes show the English countryside at its best, blending rolling hills, green fields and blue seas, mixed with elements from his fertile his imagination, and created with the intricate detail which his many collectors adore.
Dan Lane brings two stunning new limited editions from his In The Empty Spaces series to Castle Fine Art, blending social commentary on life and current affairs with his love of graffiti. 'Use With Caution' features Dan’s signature metallic skull on a Dollar bill, as a reflection on the negative and positive impact money and power can have on society. It is the first limited edition work from the In The Empty Spaces series, following the demand for the extraordinary original pieces.
The second piece, 'Vanitas', again features Dan’s signature skull, this time featuring the subdued metallic hues which are his favoured palette, again combining the motifs of money and power with the random nature of graffiti. The pieces are also available in a set of two.
Featured art: 'Vanitas' by Dan Lane, flatbed giclee on glass, £995.
Master sculptor Steve Winterburn’s newest limited edition sculpture is 'Wisdom of the Forest', a moving portrait of an orangutan, a creature he respects greatly, which is reflected in this incredible piece. Steve is famed for capturing the power, beauty, strength and resilience of the animals he sculpts, and his latest bronze is no exception. In a first for his collections with Castle Fine Art the sculpture is finished with a beautiful new burnt-orange patina. This expertly-applied texture is synonymous with Steve’s wildlife sculptures, with the looseness of the style and finish allowing him to express the soul of the animal.
Featured art: 'Wisdom of the Forest' by Steve Winterburn, bronze with natural burnt patina, £15,000.
