Former Fine Art Collector cover star Robert Oxley has gone back to basics for his hallucinogenic new release. Along with his own reference photography, the self-taught painter researched cave paintings, bestiaries and illustrations. The result is Primal Colours: an exhilarating transformation of the animal kingdom.
Earlier this year, Robert illustrated his impact on the art world's next batch of talent when his work inspired drawings by students from St Faith's School in Cambridge.
As part of our Young Fine Artist initiative, the children were invited to visit our gallery to learn more about our artists and then create their own masterpieces. One of the pupils who admired Robert's work painted this terrifying python, complete with the artist's signature drip-effect!
