Inspired by legendary war poets Wilfred Owen, Siegfried Sassoon and Rupert Brooke, The Danger Tree uses augmented reality to expose the true heartbreak of World War One. By digitally stripping away the countless layers of paint, viewers are able to reveal the creative journey beneath and see the Great War re-imagined.
This painting tells the story of the fighting units of Belfast and those across the border. The poem which inspired the piece, 'To My Daughter Betty, the Gift of God', was written by the Irishman Thomas Michael Kettle just five days before his death.
To unlock the multiple layers, download the Artivive app through the iOS app store or Google Play store and scan any piece online to get started.
