Whilst Paul Corfield is keeping his well-known and loved surrealism style, the artist is adding a modern twist to his landscapes. Known for his beautifully detailed artworks that create a sense of escapism and freedom, immersing collectors in nostalgia, the artworks have a dreamlike quality to them. Created by soft and diffused lighting, the colour palette ranges from calming pastels, which spark a sense of tranquillity and serenity, to vibrant colours, which evoke the feeling of curiosity, wonder and imagination.
Corfield's exceptional technical painting and observational ability comes to life in 'Fiery Skies', an atmospheric and picturesque landscape. The artwork transports the viewer into a world of imagination with intense orange and bold reds, reminiscent of many sunsets across the British coastline. Corfield has stated that the natural beauty and peacefulness of Dorset inspired his creative process, providing both a backdrop and a muse for his artistic endeavours.
The artist's attention to detail is prevalent, showcased in the contrast between the glowing oranges and the darker clouds in the sunset, as well as in the depiction of the sunset beaming off his signature "white house".
“It's a subtle change to my style that I'll include from time to time if the composition will benefit. This was a fun painting to create, I especially like trying to figure out how light will be reflected and bounced around within the clouds”, the artist told us.

The artist
Paul Corfield
From sunset-soaked hills to seaside cliffs and snow-laden trees, Paul's beautiful landscapes explore the beauty of the British countryside. Presented an idealised view of nature, his limited edition prints and original oil paintings add a feeling of peace and tranquility to any living space.
Paul has been with our publisher, Washington Green, since 2005, and his timeless, idealistic style proves to be eternally popular. As you may have guessed from his work, home means everything to Paul, He has lived in Dorset all his life, and he has never lived more than ten miles from his favourite painting location of Middle Beach at Studland near Swanage. 'I've probably painted it a hundred times - maybe more!'
