An exciting, extraordinary, and emotional artwork for Bob Barker, this piece pays tribute to a collector of the artist who sadly passed away in 2022 at the age of 40. It continues the narrative seen in the artworks 'Gravy Boys' and 'Chips and Gravy' but, this time, it captures the much-loved British sport of football. Available as a more exclusive edition of 195, this boxed canvas artwork is also a unique and exciting opportunity to acquire a larger artwork from Bob with a bolder framing presentation. Damp cobbles and the subtle light of street lamps, windows and the moon evoke the simple nostalgic memory of playing in the streets with friends. Can you spot the oxo and two other gravy signs in this piece?
Part of the second instalment From Yesterday to Here, Bob Barker explores a new range of lively scenes through subdued and romantic colour palettes that hark back to the artist's northern roots and industrial background. Discover the full set here, also available with the boxed canvas edition here.

The artist
Bob Barker
Inspired by the Yorkshire mill towns that shaped his youth, Bob is known for his 'Northern Impressionism' style. Depicting touching childhood, family and romantic scenes, his nostalgic artworks feature a neutral palette of greys and browns with splashes of vibrant colour and a unique inner glow created by the manipulation of light and shadow.
