The Savoy Suite was unvelied in style with a VIP launch event at its iconic namesake hotel.
The Savoy has long enjoyed an affiliation with the arts, and has earned a renowned artistic pedigree. The hotel began its Artist in Residence program in 1901, with Claude Monet being the first to hold this prestigious title. It was in 2012 that Stuart McAlpine Miller - hailed by critics as one of the most collectible artists of the moment with a fast-emerging international reputation - was appointed to this coveted post. During his time as Artist in Residence at The Savoy, McAlpine Miller fully immersed himself in the rich history of the hotel, spending time looking through the hotel archives and absorbing the distinctively stylised features of the hotel itself.
"It’s almost like a visual arts version of a time capsule, preserving moments to be enjoyed long after we’re all gone."
