Painter Nigel Mason has shown it’s never too late to experiment! The former IN:SIGHT finalist attained a fine art degree in his 50s and has now delved into aerial perspective – a technique that represents distant objects as fainter and more blue.
Known for his heart-warming tableaus, Nigel is inspired by artists like Walter Sickert, Édouard Vuillard and James Whistler. From the age of 13, he taught himself to paint by studying the Old Masters and drawing what was around him.
Adding to his collection of traditional paintings is the stunning new Echoes of the North release, which is influenced by the “intimate moments in time and observations of life” he remembers from his youth in West Yorkshire.
