To celebrate the centenary of the end of World War One, Scarlett Raven and Marc Marot have released the last-ever artwork from their revolutionary The Danger Tree series.
Fusing traditional oil painting and augmented reality technology, the artists have transported viewers to the trenches of the front line since July 2016. Inspired by Scarlett’s late father’s interest in the First World War, the stories of soldiers from around the world have been lovingly unearthed for a new generation.
Speaking on their final artwork, Marc says: “This piece features my grandfather, Private Eddie Bigwood – or ‘Grampy’ as we called him. In his mid-80s, he opened up to me about his time in the war, filling my head with unbelievable stories. He truly was my hero.”
