An original mixed media wall sculpture by the Bisaillon Brothers.
The image featured in this bold and beautiful original artwork by the Bisaillon Brothers was taken by famous 20th century photographer Bud Fraker in 1960, and shows Audrey Hepburn with a long cigarette holder, wearing Tiffany diamond jewellery and a black dress. The black and white tones of the iconic photograph perfectly complement the bright pops of colour created by the Bisaillon Brothers' sculptural forms and painting in the artwork.
A fusion of their Modern Simplicity Series and interest in classic imagery, the Pop Simplicity series explores iconic photographs from mid-20th century Hollywood and the cult of the celebrity through a contemporary lens. By breaking up such recognisable imagery with the brothers’ own coloured “lightwells”, the Warholian notion of an individual lost behind their own image in popular culture is reignited in an unprecedented and beautiful way.
