Autumn 2025

Robert Oxley

Influenced by the folklore that surrounds the Japanese Maneki Neko waving cat – a symbol of prosperity, good fortune and quiet strength – Robert Oxley weaves themes of luck and quiet strength into his Autumn 2025 collection.
The artist perfectly captures the power and fluid movement of big cats through mesmerising brushstrokes, encapsulating their raw energy in the highly detailed eyes of his paintings. Utilising his distinctive drip technique and hallucinatory swirling lines, he evokes a vivid sense of life and motion.

For the first time, Oxley introduces liquid gold leaf into his work - a technique refined through extensive experimentation - which adds an unmistakeable sense of luxury and subtly enhances the emotional resonance of each piece. This warmth and elegance extend into his hand-signed limited-edition collection, giving the artworks added dimension.

Working in a rich palette of plum, brown, and gold, he captures the big cats in their natural colours, blending a deep chocolate brown and decadent plum to complement the golden hues, resulting in a collection that is both powerful and visually captivating.

"The cats are stepping into the light and leaving the darkness behind them. It's a new beginning."

The artist

Robert Oxley

As a child, Robert Oxley spent his hours roaming the forests around a north-east coalmining village, dreaming of becoming a zookeeper. Today, the lions, tigers and elephants who roamed his imagination are given life in his dazzling wildlife paintings. Immersing himself in pop surrealism, Oxley presents viewers with what he calls 'psychedelic natural history'.

Oxley's affinity with nature is evident in every instinctive brushstroke. He began his art career by painting his school friend's denim jackets with the logos of their favourite heavy metal bands. This rock 'n' roll ethos can be seen in his art, with its loose paintwork and free attitude, which makes it so popular with his many collectors.
