Our Young Fine Artist programme encouraged children from across the UK to participate in the arts, while we've partnered with charities including Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity, Blue Cross, and The Royal British Legion. We were proud to gift ‘Stretching Dog’, a 14ft-high sculpture by Whatshisname, AKA Sebastian Burdon, to our charity partner, Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity. Our Group Managing Director Ian Weatherby-Blythe said: "Castle Fine Art has been a long-standing supporter of the charity, which is very close to all our hearts. It is with pride and pleasure that we donate this art installation to them, showcasing the work of Whatshisname and raising money for such an important purpose."
The aim of Sebastian’s hand-painted canine creation is to spread joy and happiness by mixing the childlike colours of party balloons with the natural yet hilariously exaggerated mischievous behaviour of dogs. "‘I’m honoured to have one of my sculptures outside Birmingham Children’s Hospital, where I hope it will bring a little bit of happiness to those visiting," said Sebastian, pictured here with his sculpture. "I hope the playful nature of my balloon dog will brighten the day of every little patient."

The Peaky Blinders gang from Stephen Knight’s acclaimed BBC drama may be bad to the bone, but artist Jon Jones’ portraits of characters from the series on a 50-metre-long portrait wall in Birmingham’s Hill Street have helped to raise £10,000 for the city’s Children’s Hospital Charity. At our head office in the Mailbox at Christmas 2022, we donated £1 for every photograph of the wall which was shared on social media with the hashtag #Brum4BCH. We also made a donation to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity from every one of Jon’s print sales.

After bravely revealing his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis in 2019, Alex Echo helped hundreds of people cross the UK by raising funds for Parkinson’s UK to support the vital charity work. Having previously worked with Next and University College London Hospital, recently Alex partnered with Hydrow to continue his mission to raise awareness and support for this challenging condition.
To celebrate Alex Echo’s partnership with Hydrow and Parkinson’s UK, we held a VIP event at our South Molton Street, London gallery to unveil the three limited edition rowing machines. Now available for purchase, each of the machines feature a unique design that incorporates the four natural elements.

Since March 2022, Jon's art has taken over Hill Street outside New Street Station in Birmingham for a 50-metre mural to raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital. Featuring many of the main characters of the award-winning TV show – including Thomas Shelby, Alfie Solomons and Polly Gray – the large-scale installation has already wowed the creator of Peaky Blinders, Steven Knight, who described it as "vivid and brilliant".
Castle Fine Art will donate £1 for every image of the wall that @castlegalleries is tagged in on social media with the hashtag #Brum4BCH.
In continued support of our chosen charity, we were also delighted to present Birmingham Children’s Hospital with a cheque for £4,541.00 in 2020, thanks to the sale of Jon's works.
We’re proud to unveil our community art installation at Birmingham Women’s Hospital. On display in their antenatal corridor, we hope that this specially curated selection of art will promote a sense of hope and peace for all patients, visitors and staff.
Featuring Paul Corfield’s tranquil landscapes, Romero Britto’s vibrant pop art, Stephen Simpson’s stunning florals and many more of our favourite artworks, our aim is to improve the experience for all women, babies and families visiting the hospital.
Sarah-Jane Marsh, CEO of Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Fountain Trust says: “We’ve done a lot of research over the years, and art is such an important factor for many of the women that come into the organisation. We’re so pleased and proud that we’ve got our new fantastic artwork in the main corridor.”

In 2021, Lawrence released a hand-varnished giclée boxed canvas titled ‘Hope and Glory’ in honour of his late father, the renowned artist Gerald Coulson, who taught and inspired him to become an artist. In tribute to his father, Lawrence worked with Alzheimer’s Research UK to raise money and awareness for the charity from the sale of this piece, with his donation now standing in excess of £2,000.
Naomi Walters, Regional Fundraising Officer at Alzheimer’s Research UK, says: “We’re so grateful to Lawrence for supporting Alzheimer’s Research UK. Dementia affects a significant proportion of the population – there are almost one million people living with dementia in the UK. Fantastic and creative fundraising efforts like this will help us to make life-changing research breakthroughs for people with dementia.”
In August 2014, ahead of the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War, we released 'Never Forgotten' by British miniature sculptor, Nic Joly.
The artist created this commemorative edition to honour the lives lost and sacrifices made, as well as raise funds for the Royal British Legion. To date, over £80,000 has been raised for the charity and the piece has touched the hearts of people around the world, with Nic receiving letters of thanks from as far afield as Canada, New Zealand and Japan.
In November 2018, to signify the end of the Great War, he released a follow-up: 'Golden Lives Never Forgotten'. The first ten artworks sold out within a record three hours, while the eleventh and final piece from the edition was auctioned to raise a further £3,200 for the Royal British Legion.
