Heavily inspired by the aesthetic of British pop, Nic Joly returns with a brand-new collection. Drawing from the iconic Oasis’s song ‘Don't Look Back in Anger’, ‘I Heard You Say’ is a bold limited-edition artwork. Encapsulating both the cultural context and musical memory, Joly’s famous miniature figures are dressed in era-specific clothing, serving as a visual time capsule of the mid-'90s music scene, and their poses and expressions echo the Britpop attitude.
The colour palette is heavily focused on vintage blues and deep red, drawing from mod culture and the Union Jack, evoking a confident but nostalgic mood.
At the centre of the artwork, Nic featured a scaled-down band, performing ‘Don't Look Back in Anger’. A clear nod to Oasis, each band member is meticulously crafted, inviting the viewer to lean in and observe. Featuring in bold text ‘Don’t Look Back’, the sentence is completed by a miniature Liam holding a sign that reveals the final words ‘In Anger’.
A pocket-sized concert with meaning, this scene reinforces a personal and almost secretive nature of emotional retrospection that the song captures.
This artwork is also available in a set of two and in different edition here - the two versions are offered in distinct sizes, each delivering a unique interpretation of the song’s sentiment.

For all orders of artwork, we advise delivery of up to four weeks from placing your order. Many of our pieces are handmade to order just for you here in the UK. Books and gift vouchers are delivered within 2-3 working days.

We want you to love your artwork, so we offer a 14-day cooling-off period to view it in your home. If you’re not satisfied, we’ll collect it for free or you can return it to one of our galleries.

Nic Joly is a true artist and craftsman, whose artistic career was born in a stained glass and metal workshop. Inspired by his own unique style, Joly began to create his tiny figurines. His detailed pieces are full of hand-crafted mini people in an extraordinarily detailed background, which are all made in Nic’s studio in Hampshire.

In 2024, we celebrated Nic Joly's tenth anniversary with Castle Fine Art and remembered the intricate details tell stories of moments lived, emotions felt, and a journey embarked upon. As Nic reflects on the last decade and his past creations, the spirit of experimentation and the passion for self-expression is a reminder that Nic's artwork is an extension of him and the thoughtful, considered miniature works he creates. Nic's 2024 collection,The Next Chapter, references Nic's evolving creative journey with his progressive techniques, unexplored themes, and sentiments yet to be unravelled and miniaturised. With renewed determination, Nic is ready to embark on The Next Chapter of his artistic journey.

Yes, Castle Fine Art is based in the UK, but we ship internationally. All of our international orders are delivered via DHL.
To ensure a secure transit, every artwork is handled with utmost care. We take precautionary measures by using foam around the piece for added safety during transportation, and then the artwork(s) are packaged in double-walled, reinforced cardboard boxes that offer superior protection. All of this ensures that your artwork arrives safely.
Most artwork orders will need to be professionally mounted and framed before being dispatched, so delivery can take up to four weeks from the date you placed your order, but we do strive to deliver your order as soon as we can.
Books and gift cards are delivered within 2-3 working days. Please note, if multiple artworks are purchased within the same order, they may be delivered separately for efficient delivery.
The majority of our originals and limited editions are hand signed by the artist themselves. On some occasions where we have limited edition sculptures, this is hand written into the mould before production. If you're unsure, please contact us.
