Request Artwork - Solence
Hand-signed mixed media original by Raphael Mazzucco.
Exploring half-awake moments and the feeling of distant memories, Mazzucco blurs the line between reality and reverie with his signature blend of raw, gritty photography, vivid colour, and layered resin. Shot over decades with iconic muses including Adriana Lima and Gisele Bündchen, Dreamscape is a visceral blend of beauty, memory and imagination.
"Dreamscapes is a place where memory blurs with imagination—a soft, strange world you want to return to, even if it never truly existed."
From the salt-kissed coasts of Tulum to the city-side haze of Montauk, Dreamscape feels like a whispered memory or a dream half-remembered. Golden pastel palettes contrast with blue hues that melt into sunlit silhouettes, whilst vibrant strokes of paint bring unexpected intensity to moments suspended in time. Each artwork in the collection is a map of emotion filled with images and ideas that layer, interrupt, erase and blur.
Mazzucco has incorporated ripped paper and shimmering loose pigments in his work for the first time in the Dreamscape collection, adding an ethereal, otherworldly aesthetic to the artwork. Layering photographs, pigments and found objects between glossy veils of resin, the artist offers contrast and cohesion where the image is repeated or disrupted, alluding to hazy, hard to reach memories. The torn edges form clouds, cliffs and silhouettes, dissolving and reforming to create artworks within artworks, like dreams within dreams. Adding his signature elements of handwritten text, Mazzucco wrote words that flowed through his mind whilst he created the piece, reaching into his own subconscious.
"I wanted to create something that felt like a dream — not a specific place, but the feeling of going there, a place you return to in your thoughts, the moment you close your eyes."

The artist
Raphael Mazzucco
Canadian-born artist Raphael Mazzucco's visual narrative captures the human form against a backdrop of startling landscapes that span the continents, from Icelandic glaciers to African wildlife and Vietnamese rice paddies. By layering paint, photography, and hand-lettered text, Raphael takes viewers on a documentary-style journey through geographic and emotional terrains.
His work layers photography with text and natural elements such as flowers and leaves, and Raphael's pieces spring from lengthy expeditions where he lives and breathes his subjects. Raphael's working life actually began as a footballer in Canada and England; something which he credits with giving him the drive to become successful in the next stage of his life. After being shot by iconic photographer Bruce Weber for a Calvin Klein campaign, Raphael developed an interest in the art form and left sport behind.
