2025 - A Year of Celebration at Castle Fine Art

2025 is a very exciting year at Castle Fine Art, as it marks our 30-year anniversary and many of our artists are also celebrating a decade (or even two) working with us!

Opening the first ever ‘Castle Galleries’ in Stratford-Upon-Avon in 1995, we had just one goal in mind – to share the joy of fine art. Over the years, many things have changed, including our name, but that goal has stayed the same. For 30 years, we have devoted ourselves to building a team of friendly experts, working with the highest calibre of artists and continually listening to our clients to ensure our pure love of art remains at the heart of what we do.

As we have grown from a single gallery to a network of 38 nationwide, our artists and collectors have grown alongside us, continuing to connect over a shared passion for art. Join us as we spotlight some of our incredible artists who are celebrating milestone anniversaries with us this year.

Jon Jones

Painting figures from the silver screen, music idols and the infamous Peaky Blinders, Jon Jones has captured some incredibly recognisable characters in his signature black and white palette. His work adorns the walls outside Birmingham’s New Street Station, bringing a touch of Brummie history to the city’s Hill Street. This 50-metre-long mural was created in support of Birmingham’s Children’s Hospital Charity.

Known for celebrating his Birmingham roots, Jones has sought inspiration from the city for his upcoming collection. Painting some of the city’s most iconic faces, he has delved further into his love of local heritage.

“I can never imagine not painting. Even if it wasn’t my job, I’d still be doing it.” – Jon Jones

Nic Joly

Contemporary miniature artist Nic Joly has explored a wide variety of themes throughout his decade with Castle Fine Art – from love and sex to mental health and war, Joly uses his artwork to understand and share complex issues.

To mark 10 years with Castle Fine Art, Nic has been revisiting and remastering some of his, and his collectors’, most loved artworks in his The Next Chapter collection. Centring human connection and discussing big topics on a small scale, these artworks celebrate love and creativity.

Nic headed out on the road this year to meet some of his collectors and to exclusively share some of his new original and limited-edition pieces. Inviting the viewer into his world of minute details and exquisite craftsmanship, Nic forges deep connections with his collectors.

“It’s a milestone really… I’ve really enjoyed revisiting these titles and comparing the meaning they had to me then to what they mean to me now.” - Nic Joly

Robert Oxley

Master wildlife artist Robert Oxley is best known for his mesmerising psychedelic artworks, each complete with his signature drip technique. Experimenting with rainbows of colours and monochrome palettes, Oxley has pushed the boundaries of his unique style throughout his decade with Castle Fine Art.

Passionate about wildlife conservation, Oxley celebrates advancements made in big cat conservation through his work, often supporting charitable causes using proceeds from his paintings. His enthusiasm for the environment is evident in every piece he paints, from the hypnotising eyes of each creature to the energy he captures on the canvas.

To mark 10 years with Castle Fine Art, Oxley has been experimenting with his style more than ever before. Keep an eye out for some exciting new originals from the artist, each inspired by one of his artistic idols.

“Being a professional artist for ten years is like a dream really… I keep pinching myself.” – Robert Oxley

Peter and Jayne Smith

In Spring 2025, artistic husband and wife duo Peter and Jayne Smith went on the road as part of their 20th anniversary celebrations with Castle Fine Art. Excited to meet the pair, fans were able to preview the couple’s Spring 2025 collection, Scoff. – a series of artworks centred around British pantry favourites, contemplating the themes of friendship, love, and life with kids. The duo’s works have captured the cultural imagination of a huge and loyal collector base of art lovers, with whom Peter and Jayne have an incredible connection, saying “it’s other people, not us, who’ve brought us here. So, thank you all.”

As Peter and Jayne’s style has evolved throughout the years, one thing has remained constant – the Impossimals! These cheeky, fun-loving fine art characters are as humorous as the Smiths themselves, continuing to make the artwork so beloved and collectable. Having gained a dedicated following in the fine art world, the Impossimals embody a unique blend of humour, creativity and Peter Smith’s still life artistic craftsmanship.

“It’s taken 20 years to get to this stage and we’re still learning and we’re still doing new things which is amazing.” – Peter Smith

Dan Lane

Influenced by nature, religious architecture and Renaissance art, Dan Lane’s artwork has a contemporary, urban edge with a unique blend of romance and realism. Motifs including hummingbirds and butterflies bring a sense of ethereal elegance to his work, whilst images of skulls and graffiti ground each piece.

The artist’s experience as an engineer inspires his constant research, development and experimentation with methods and materials, empowering him to continuously evolve his artwork. Infusing every piece with social comment and a masterful mix of darkness and light, each artwork Lane creates is utterly compelling.

With the artist working on exciting new collections, Dan Lane fans can anticipate incredible things from him in his tenth year with Castle Fine Art.

“As an artist, I really have been left to explore what I can do with no one holding me back.” - Dan Lane

Scarlett Raven

An alumnus of the prestigious Central St.Martins, artist Scarlett Raven has spent over a decade refining her craft and earning significant acclaim for her expressive colour palettes, bold textures, and signature ‘impasto’ technique. Widely recognised for the emotional intensity and heavy texture of her work, Raven is one of the most exciting female artists in the UK today.

Whilst recovering from her fifth nervous breakdown, Raven produced Beyond the Surface – a collection of artwork created solely in white. Finding solace in removing the noise of colour, Raven moved away from her vibrant canvasses to produce this series of stripped back, raw artworks. A visually stunning and incredibly moving month-long exhibition of this artwork was shown at the ICC in Birmingham to celebrate Raven’s tenth anniversary with Castle Fine Art. Raven appeared at the exhibition opening, offering attendees an emotional insight into the deeply personal story behind the collection.

“Being with Castle Fine Art for ten years has been incredible. It’s been a family, and I’ve grown, I’ve changed my work, who I am.” – Scarlett Raven
