What is an original artwork?

An original work of art is a one-off piece - painting, sculpture, mixed media - which is made by the artist themselves. When you buy an original piece of work, it comes with the knowledge that you own something incredibly special; almost a piece of the creator themselves, and when you purchase an original, it makes for an incredibly personal experience. You can see many of our artists making their original work on our YouTube channel.

We have a varied selection of original art available to purchase on our website, but because pieces are highly sought-after and sell out quickly, it's not always possible to put them on our website. If you're interested in our full portfolio, you can visit one of our galleries nationwide, or get in touch with an art consultant here.

All about silkscreens

09/01/2023

Silk-screening, or serigraphy as it's also known, is a time-honoured artisan technique that transforms raw materials into exquisite, hand-pulled works of art. Rooted in centuries of tradition, using a finely stretched mesh or screen (hence the name), silk-screening is a meticulous layering process which demands precision, patience, and the expertise of highly skilled printmakers.
