Exploring architecture and fine art, this series sees a flawless resin surface offset by vibrant geometric holes, which the brothers call "lightwells".
These repeated holes lend themselves to concepts of minimalist sculpture, while the vibrant colours deliberately project light onto the surface behind to further extend the impact of the artwork.
Describing the series as “an intermediary between iconic imagery and culture”, the brothers interpret the world around us in the form of influential figures and brands, including John Lennon, David Bowie and Audrey Hepburn.
Jeffrey created the colourful abstract elements, while Michael used trinary code to create the number systems and codes. The bright colours are fused with a serene resin texture to add a modern aesthetic to any home.
This strikingly contemporary series captures sirens from the silver screen and figures from pop culture – including the famous outlaws Bonnie and Clyde! Along with monochrome and multicoloured elements, some of the pieces feature a hint of glitter in the resin to add a different feel and texture.
The minimalist holes add another dimension to the surface of the artworks, which incoporate vintage imagery – including real-life photography, publicity stills and posters – plus iconic quotes and brand logos.
An homage to iconic brands and celebrities, this series – named after the French for ‘face’ – uses the idea of cut-out space to create a 3D effect. Within each mixed media painting, a relief is created to form a wall sculpture.
Digital photography is layered with vibrant acrylic paint to unite the past, present and future through complex artistic techniques that date back to ancient Greece.
