Just when we thought Peter and Jayne Smith had finally begun to behave themselves, they're back again with a delectable new collection of limited edition artworks.

Taking its name from the super-sized bottle, Jam & Jeroboam features their much-loved Impossimals® glugging and chomping away in a boozy, bake-off style series of charming tableaus. When contacted for a quote, the duo described the series as a "cavalcade of artistic comedy creations", which we think aptly summarises this buffet of tongue-in-cheek humour, hidden jokes and delicious treats.

Like the surreal worlds of M.C. Escher and Salvador Dalí, Peter and Jayne like to bamboozle their collectors with dastardly puzzles and wordplay. We don't want to give too much away, but behind each of the hand-varnished canvasses is a fiendish riddle, whether it's Cockney rhyming slang to unravel, or secret messages hidden on the bottle labels. Presented in bronze and pewter frames, these hand-signed prints are fantastic for bringing laughter into the home of yourself or a loved one.

The Impossimal dictionary

Peter's art has taken inspiration from the likes of Lewis Carroll, L. Frank Baum and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, so it's no wonder that he's got a way with (ridiculous) words.

Flamboozled – The process of using strawberry flans to provide texture on a gin-based painting when using flaky pastry would have been easier.

Jiggypigging – Eating and painting to music.

Plonktastic – Euphoric feeling after drinking three bottles of wine and trying to use a brush on a canvas in the manner of the 'pin the tail on the donkey' game.

Pramwheeling – The small squeaking noise you make whilst sliding down the wall in frustrated tears because inspiration has left the room momentarily.

Whirlygagging – The little dance and twirl you do when finishing the final painting, forgetting that your mouth is stuffed with cake and gin.
