In his new collection of work, Nic has challenged conventional notions of scale, transforming the mundane into the extraordinary, and has created an entire universe within the palm of his hand. With references to past works as Nic reflects on the last decade and his past creations, the spirit of experimentation and the passion for self-expression are at the core of this new collection. The Next Chapter references Nic’s evolving creative journey with his progressive techniques, unexplored themes and sentiments yet to be unravelled and miniaturised.
The title, “Be Brave”, enthuses us to follow our path and experience our personal journey to the fullest and it is representative that the people around us help develop, guide and collaboratively build our journeys. Whether it's capturing the essence of a fleeting moment, reimagining historical scenes, or interpreting fictional scenes, Nic’s possesses a unique ability to communicate subtlety.
Be Brave III is a map of Southern Turkey. It's another really special place to Nic and his family, as it’s the first place that he and his wife took their boys on a foreign holiday. The family spent time in Calcan and quickly became a family favourite, spending many more family holidays there since. “The sea is beautiful and the sand is magic”
Through the vibrant colours of the line work, intricate details, and imaginative routes, Nic captures the essence of wanderlust and self-discovery. Whether it's capturing the essence of a fleeting moment, reimagining historical scenes, or interpreting fictional scenes, Nic’s possesses a unique ability to communicate with subtlety and finesse.
