Limited Edition Silkscreen

Given Castle Fine Art's expertise as the UK's leading art retailer and publisher, we are committed to the highest standards regarding the printing of artworks. Believed to have originated as far back as 1000 years ago, silkscreen printing involves using a tightly stretched mesh or screen. The first step is to mount the silkscreens over your chosen canvas, with a separate screen for each colour. Once the screens or stencils are in place, artists roll, press, sponge or squeegee their ink or paint over the silkscreens to leave a design.

The Art in Life

Part of

Anthology 2026

Known for his playful approach to subverting familiar formats, James McQueen’s 2026 Anthology collection reimagines traditional bookshelves as contemporary canvases. Drawing together an eclectic collection of titles and cultural references, McQueen transforms book spines into layered artworks that conjure narrative and memories. Removed from their original context, the titles begin new conversations, create unexpected connections and moments of humour.

The artist

James McQueen

You should never judge a book by its cover, and McQueen is keeping his firmly under wraps. The elusive artist, who operates under a name as fictitious as the titles he paints, has so far launched one collection of his book-themed Anthology works, three collections of his Non-Fiction works with Castle Fine Art and, the most recent Special Edition collection. They proved to be a page-turner with our collectors, and McQueen's limited edition captivating works are extraordinarily popular and in incredibly high demand - with the Non-Fiction collection selling out in just hours!
