Bob Dylan | Retrospectrum
In 2019, Bob Dylan’s first comprehensive solo museum exhibition, Retrospectrum, opened at the Modern Art Museum (MAM) Shanghai. Attracting over 100,000 visitors in the opening three months, it cemented him as one of the most important contemporary visual artists, and became the most-visited art exhibition that year. Our beautiful hardback book takes viewers on a visual tour of the groundbreaking exhibition, making it a must-have for any Dylan collector.
Showcasing over 180 drawings, sculptures and paintings from collections including The Asia Series, Mondo Scripto, Train Tracks and The Drawn Blank Series, the international exhibition has now moved to the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum in Miami, where it will run until April 2022. Following on from its success at the Today Art Museum in Beijing and the Jupiter Museum of Art in Shenzhen, the exhibition includes immersive and interactive displays, along with works from his brand-new Deep Focus series, which transforms scenes from films into cinematic paintings.
