Grounded Serenity – Blue Roan
Steve Winterburn
(Ex VAT)

A Hand-signed Bronze Sculpture on Black Granite Base by Steve Winterburn.

Steve Winterburn, the esteemed master of bronze casting, has unlocked the closely guarded secrets of foundrymen to perfect age-old techniques in mold-making and the manipulation of molten bronze.

Sculpted by a Yorkshire based artist, the abstract and expressive horse head in Winterburn’s new contemporary style is driven by an elemental and spiritual standpoint. Having always been interested in the connection between horse and man, the artist explores that bond with two new limited editions. Inspired by the power of Earth, the artist emulates the great power believed to come from grounding with the earth.

With 'Grounded Serenity', the sculpture captured the real presence of peace and tranquillity, emulating feelings of belonging and home. Sculpted with strong and striking textures, the composition of the piece was contrastingly mounted on its nose, giving a warm gently edge to the bronze sculpture. A conscious effort from Steve, this intends to portray the duality of the beautiful creatures, although big and powerful, they are also very gently and loving.

In own family-run foundry, Steve harnesses the timeless medium, bronze, which he reveres as 'eternal as diamonds'. From mold-making to finishing touches, each step of the process is executed by hand, ensuring the utmost quality and authenticity.

This piece is a Bronze Sculpture on Black Granite Base.

This sculpture is displayed in our Bath, Chester, Mailbox and Newcastle galleries.

What is the difference between a limited edition and an original?

An original work of art is a one-off piece - painting, sculpture, mixed media - which is made by the artist themselves. When you buy an original piece of work, it comes with the knowledge that you own something incredibly special; almost a piece of the creator themselves. A limited edition is a translation of an original piece and there is a fixed number of these made. The piece will be signed by the artist, and the edition number will show you which number in the series you have purchased. Read more about the different types of art we sell here.

Will you install my art?

We do offer an installation service should you need assistance. You can contact our art consultants for further information here. Please note that this is currently only available in mainland UK.
