Bisaillon Brothers
(Ex VAT)

An original mixed media artwork by the Bisaillon Brothers.

Bursting with colour and movement, this iconic original artwork by the Bisaillon Brothers inherits a fascinating history of art and alcohol. From Caravaggio’s famous 16th century painting of the Greek God of Wine ‘Bacchus’, to Jeff Koon’s unforgettable collaboration with Dom Pérignon in 2004. Most importantly, it builds upon the work of Andy Warhol, whom the Bisaillon Brothers take inspiration from. Collaborating with Absolut Vodka in the 1980s, Warhol famously blurred the line between artists and brands which the Bisaillon Brothers continue to push in their extraordinary artwork.

This bubbling and bold original artwork forms part of the Bisaillon Brothers' Pop Collection. Conceived as an intermediary between iconic imagery and culture, the Pop Collection sees the brothers illustrate classical brands through a range of medium including resin, acrylic paint, graphic design and code; all of which feature in the above original. The latter involves Michael Bisaillon’s own trinary code which he applies as a comment on the conflict between digital and analogue in contemporary society.

About

Bisaillon Brothers

About

Bisaillon Brothers

Influenced by pop and street artists like Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, the duo evoke an exciting commentary on the pop culture of today and the mid-20th century. New technology, iconicism, globalisation and social media are given a modern interpretation through digital art, vibrant colours and bold brushwork.

The brothers have a unique, hands-on approach to creating their art. All of the pieces are mixed media and incorporate a range of mediums, including canvas, wood, paint, pen, resin, spray paint, digital imagery and even building materials.

Over 25 years of fantastic art

In 1995, we opened our first-ever gallery in Stratford-upon-Avon. With just one goal in mind - to make our art accessible to all - our fledgling company began to spread its roots.

Craftsmanship and Quality

Every piece of art is mounted, glazed or framed by hand, with our bespoke framing service selected by our creative department.

Built to last

Our foundations are built on a passion for art, and many of our staff (and collectors!) have been with us from the very beginning.
