Taken from Stuart’s Lost Lives//Split Personalities collection, this multilayered artwork fuses his musical inspirations with a desire to reveal the many sides of the individual behind their artform.
This piece depicts the notorious English bassist and vocalist Sid Vicious, who became a punk icon after joining the Sex Pistols. The blurred double image reflects Sid’s split personality and the anti-social nature of the punk genre. The words ‘action comics’ symbolise the movement and energy of this era.
Stuart says: “Music is an emotion, a feeling and a state of mind: expression is key. It’s also important to create the correct vehicle for your expression. Perfect in every way, punk allowed that expression to be heard, explored and celebrated. God Save The Queen.”
