Just A Kiss

Full of bold colour, heavy texture, and abstract brush strokes, this wonderful original artwork from Stephen Simpson's 2021 collection Opus, "incorporates all aspects of my previous work that I particularly like", according to the artist, while embracing a range of new techniques and materials.

Created during 2020, which not only marked a difficult year for us all but also Stephen's 10 years working as a professional artist, this body of work "is meant to be cheerful, romantic, [and] uplifting". This stunning artwork is also a contemporary take on one of the oldest genres of art history!

From Ancient Egyptian depictions of a lotus flowers to Vincent Van Gogh's sunflowers and the work of Georgia O'Keeffe, flowers have been the focus of artists for centuries. For Van Gogh they 'communicated gratitude' and for Stephen Simpson, they "make people smile, take them to a happy place". This universal symbol of happiness is the perfect way to add a contemporary yet classic touch for any space that glows with life and passion.
