Comprising a desirable selection of rare and previously sold-out artwork from Ronnie Wood’s past portfolio and private collections, the Classic Collection illustrates the visual artist’s creative prowess.
From watercolours to pastels, pencil and oils, Ronnie illustrates his fearless approach to contemporary art. His work ranges in genre from wildlife to Pop Art and landscapes, with his classical training at Ealing Art College affording him an admirable confidence when creating traditional artworks.
This piece was originally released in 2006 and is taken from Ronnie’s Triple Crown Suite. The powerful artwork is named after the Emperor of the Mongol Empire, Genghis Khan, and the battle scene depicted is similar in style to one of Ronnie’s artistic inspirations, the French Romantic painter Eugène Delacroix. Ronnie’s original painting inspired the cover of his 2001 album, Not for Beginners.
