When All Is Equal (Bronze)
Dan Lane

A limited edition sculpture with Polished Bronze on a Black Granite Base.

“When All Is Equal” is a re-release of the iconic stainless-steel sculpture originally created for his 2021 Modern Relics collection. This polished bronze on a black granite base edition of the poignant sculpture portrays an ethereal hummingbird hovering above the fingertips of the sculpture, as well as on the cherry blossom tattoo that grows up the arm like a branch. This iconic piece resembles the arms of some of the most classical works from Baroque and Renaissance masters whilst featuring the artist most popular symbols - The hummingbird for example, symbolises how fragile the natural world is and it’s used significantly by the artist.

The sculpture symbolises the delicate balance that can exist between nature and mankind, represented by the arm reaching out to hold a single flower for the hummingbird to feed from it.

“I wanted to create a sculpture that showed that mankind and the natural world can live in balance and harmony as equals. Nature has never taken from us, yet we have exploited nature’s generosity.” – Dan Lane

This elegant bronze sculpture will add a classic and contemporary dimension to any home. View Dan Lane's full portfolio here or read more about this piece on our blog.

What is the difference between a limited edition and an original?

An original work of art is a one-off piece - painting, sculpture, mixed media - which is made by the artist themselves. When you buy an original piece of work, it comes with the knowledge that you own something incredibly special; almost a piece of the creator themselves. A limited edition is a translation of an original piece and there is a fixed number of these made. The piece will be signed by the artist, and the edition number will show you which number in the series you have purchased. Read more about the different types of art we sell here.

Will you install my art?

We do offer an installation service should you need assistance. You can contact our art consultants for further information here. Please note that this is currently only available in mainland UK.

About

Dan Lane

About

Dan Lane

Dan Lane's works certainly have a contemporary, urban edge, but as an artist, he is hugely influenced by the Renaissance. He is inspired by the sculptures found in churches and cathedrals around the world, particularly the flamboyant styling of the Italian sculptor and architect Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the artist credited with creating the Baroque style of sculpture, and other Italian artistic geniuses Michelangelo and Antonio Canova.

Nature also influences Dan's art, with many pieces featuring flowers, insects, and birds. For his original 3D sculptures, Dan experiments with colours, finishes and textures. These include crushed glass, gold and silver leaf, marble, bronze, and glass diamonds.
