Originally the name of the Hindu creator god, 'brahma' is also a word that Billy Connolly associates with his hometown of Glasgow. Slang for something beautiful and jazzy, here Billy has used it to express the beauty of his 'Brahmarama Llama' drawing. Indeed beautiful and jazzy, this colourful drawing by Billy forms part of his latest Born On A Rainy Day collection that sees him use more colour than ever before.
Originating on tour in Canada in 2007, Billy's sell-out collection Born On A Rainy Day began on a drizzly day in Montreal when he impulsively brought some felt-tip pens and a sketchbook. Since then, Billy's drawings have evolved to express complex ideas of liberation and surrealism whilst retaining his original spontaneity, humour, and fun.
This artwork comes displayed on deckle-edged Aquarelle Arches-Torchon 300gsm paper, elegantly float-mounted in a handmade black paint and silver foil, pine and spruce frame.
