Inspired by his childhood memories of having a tin bath, this bold and bright original oil painting by Stephen Roby also reflects his own unique style 'Low Fat Cubism'.
Borrowing aspects from the historical genre of Synthetic Cubism, Stephen's 'Low-Fat' cubist artworks are also characterised by intersecting lines, geometric shapes, and bold colours with a hint of satirical realism which he takes from his own memories. The original style of synthetic cubism was invented and championed by the famous artists Pablo Picasso and George Braque from 1912-1914. A crucial movement in the development of cubism and later Abstract Expressionism, many of their artworks hang in important museums around the world.
