This artwork is taken from the second instalment of Bob Dylan's 2015 release, The Brazil Series. Inspired by his real-life observations, the series of works shuns a romantic view of the country in favour of textured depictions of ramshackle favelas and genuine community spirit, heightened by rusty browns and ochre shades.
By using perspective and dimensions, he encourages viewers to relax into the kaleidoscope of colours and hear the music. The tonal green and blue shades have been likened to those of Cézanne - one of Dylan’s favourite Impressionists.
Displayed on Hahnemühle 350gsm Museum Etching Paper and framed in silver leaf pine wood.
