Capturing the 1935 horror classic Bride of Frankenstein, this spine-chilling pencil sketch shows just why Robert's work is owned by stars including Star Wars creator George Lucas.
Mirroring the black-and-white cinematography of the film, this striking figurative work possesses an incredible atmosphere and sense of drama. The former medical photographer creates this effect via a method called hatching, which involves using closely-drawn parallel lines to imply shade, tone and texture.
Starring Boris Karloff as Frankenstein’s monster, this film was based on the 1818 Frankenstein novel by Mary Shelley. The plot revolves around Victor Frankenstein’s ill-fated creation of a mate for his monster, in the form of the bride of Frankenstein, Eva.
