American brothers Jeffrey and Michael Bisaillon combine their talents to create “uber-contemporary” works inspired by Pop Art.
Influenced by artists like Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, the duo explore the pop culture of today and the mid-20th century. Their work incorporates a range of mediums, including canvas, wood, paint, pen, resin, spray paint, digital imagery and even building materials.
This piece is taken from the pair’s Vinylgraphs collection, for which they thoroughly researched music history to add layers. Michael adds: “This is one of my favourite artworks from the collection, because not only is sitting next to the sign ‘Keep off the grass’ humorous, but it speaks volumes about the idea of carving out your own path in life. ‘Hey Jude’ was the band’s first single with their new Apple Records label in 1968.”
