From the fiery horizons of Thailand to the proud roots of the British landscape, the magic of twilight is captured in Richard Rowan’s stunning Twilight collection. Painted from a low viewpoint to capture his child’s perspective, the beautiful new giclée on glass prints are a calm reflection upon on what we are doing to our planet and the world around us.
Speaking on this piece, Richard says: “There were challenges with getting the intensity of colour to flow through the background, as the trees interrupt this. The four trees in the centre represent myself, my wife and my two children.”

Describing his new artworks as “nature’s silhouettes”, Richard Rowan has returned with three additions to his popular Twilight series. Created using his signature reverse painting-on-glass technique (find out more about this here), the artist has captured the majesty of the sky from a completely different perspective.

From the Icelandic wilderness to the fiery horizons of Thailand and towering mountains of Norway to spectacular Scotland, his atmospheric scenes allow viewers to escape from everyday life, creating a sense of intrigue in any living space. Richard is the only artist to be creating art in this style, and his incredible landscapes are so detailed that they are often mistaken for photographs, when in fact each one has been meticulously painted by hand using his reverse painting technique.
As the only fine artist successfully creating artworks in this style, Richard has become a part of the history of the glass art form, which dates back to Roman times and can also be seen in the Gothic period. Unlike canvas, glass interacts with the light, bringing his works to sparkling life.

Yes, Castle Fine Art is based in the UK, but we ship internationally. All of our international orders are delivered via DHL.
To ensure a secure transit, every artwork is handled with utmost care. We take precautionary measures by using foam around the piece for added safety during transportation, and then the artwork(s) are packaged in double-walled, reinforced cardboard boxes that offer superior protection. All of this ensures that your artwork arrives safely.
Most artwork orders will need to be professionally mounted and framed before being dispatched, so delivery can take up to four weeks from the date you placed your order, but we do strive to deliver your order as soon as we can.
Books and gift cards are delivered within 2-3 working days. Please note, if multiple artworks are purchased within the same order, they may be delivered separately for efficient delivery.
The majority of our originals and limited editions are hand signed by the artist themselves. On some occasions where we have limited edition sculptures, this is hand written into the mould before production. If you're unsure, please contact us.
