Trained in Israel, Paris, New York and at Saint Martin’s School of Art in London, Gerstein began his career as a figurative painter before pushing beyond the confines of the canvas. In 1995, he pioneered his signature medium: hand-painted cut-out aluminium wall sculptures. Alongside his hand-painted paper cut-outs, these works form a unique hybrid of painting and sculpture.
