Named ‘Football Player of the Century’ by FIFA, Pelé is one of the most celebrated football players in history. The only man to win the World Cup three times, the Brazilian footballer had tremendous vision and an electrifying pace, having set numerous records at international level. Hand-signed by Pelé himself, this captivating photograph captures not only his skills on the field and as a player, but the passion and humility of the man behind the legend.
This classic 1976 image of Pelé - capturing the exact moment when the sweat on his shirt shaped a heart on his chest - taken by Luiz Paulo Machado is one of the most famous and most globally publicised pictures of the star. For Pelé, ‘It’s a photo only God can explain’. For Machado, a photojournalist who currently works at the Federal Court in Rio de Janeiro, it is his masterwork: ‘It’s a photograph recognised the world over. It is without doubt my most important.’
“Goal!!!” is a Pelé hand-signed limited edition Silver Gelatin 30x40 artwork depicting world-famous footballer. This piece is part of the new collection “Art Life Football”, which offers an exclusive glimpse into the formative years of one of the greatest athletes of our time.
