First released to American theatres in 1945, 'Mouse In Manhattan' was the first time that an episode of Tom & Jerry focused on just one of the destructive duo. It was also the first time that key American animator Ed Barge was credited for his contribution to the early Tom & Jerry cartoons.
Signed by Bob Singer and Joseph Barbera, this artwork comprises both a hand-painted title card and larger animation cel on a giclée background. Paying homage to the original animators' techniques, where each still would be hand-drawn and painted onto acetate cels and set against separate painted backgrounds, the hand-painted nature of these cels captures the magic and passion that those early animators had in the mid to late 20th century.
Framed in glass and metallic grey painted pine and spruce wood, this remarkable artwork forms part of our second Hanna-Barbera collection which you can shop here.
