Hand-signed Double Hit Flatbed Giclée Limited Edition by Billy Connolly.
Reminiscing about a joyful day out with his children when they were young, Billy explores how the curious mind of a child understands the world in ‘Sausage Tree’. On a journey through the Scottish countryside, Billy and his family stumbled upon a plant with seed pods that looked distinctly like sausages which his young daughter coined the ‘sausage tree’. Now, in their family “it’ll always be the sausage tree. It’ll always have a place in my heart”, says Billy.
Detailed with Billy’s signature intricate linework, ‘Sausage Tree’ is drawn in shades of blue, with red, purple and yellow stripes and a sausage hanging from each branch. Interpreting an ordinary plant through a lens of childhood wonder, Billy shares a humorous and heartfelt story through his artwork.
“It’s funny how when you like a drawing or a painting, you come across it at different times and it looks different. It has different values. This one just screams at me.”

The artist
Billy Connolly
The world-famous musician and comedian's iconic artworks have no less impact than one of his legendary comedy sketches. The faceless figures possess an extraordinary self-awareness and humanity. Devoid of emotion or expression, their anonymity opens them up to individual interpretation, creating a unique bond with the viewer.
Featured by The Times and documentaries including Billy Connolly: It's Been a Pleasure, his minimalist drawings have been described as 'poignant', 'funny' and 'enigmatic' by critics.
