In his Summer 2026 collection, Nigel Humphries brings toys to life in a playful and expressive way. The artworks feel like a moment caught in time, with the toys frozen in time mid jump in a spontaneous snapshot. Inspired by his nephews, whose names are the artworks' titles Walter and Angus, playing on a trampoline, the British painter captures the sense of carefree movement and joy.
Each character has its own personality and story. While the flamingo, Rosie, is imagined as a graceful ballerina, moving with elegance and control, even as she bounces. Nigel sees the elephant, Walter, as a big, gentle creature enjoying the freedom of movement.
Rosie keeps her composure throughout, with every feather perfectly in place and her whimsical tiara untouched, adding a touch of charm and fantasy. Walter’s form is built up with thick textured paint, giving him a strong physical presence. Details like his party hat flying off as he jumps help to suggest motion and bring a sense of fun and playfulness to the scene.

Yes, Castle Fine Art is based in the UK, but we ship internationally. All of our international orders are delivered via DHL.
To ensure a secure transit, every artwork is handled with utmost care. We take precautionary measures by using foam around the piece for added safety during transportation, and then the artwork(s) are packaged in double-walled, reinforced cardboard boxes that offer superior protection. All of this ensures that your artwork arrives safely.
Most artwork orders will need to be professionally mounted and framed before being dispatched, so delivery can take up to four weeks from the date you placed your order, but we do strive to deliver your order as soon as we can.
Books and gift cards are delivered within 2-3 working days. Please note, if multiple artworks are purchased within the same order, they may be delivered separately for efficient delivery.
The majority of our originals and limited editions are hand signed by the artist themselves. On some occasions where we have limited edition sculptures, this is hand written into the mould before production. If you're unsure, please contact us.
