Inspired by his love of 1950s comic books, Rich Simmons combines quintessential pop art and modern street art to create artwork which provokes thought and challenges expectations. Between the Capes sees the artist frame his well-known image of Batman kissing Superman within portrayals of crying women inspired by classic pop art.
Simmons builds a narrative using the composition of each piece, working with bold colours to draw the eye to every detail. His unique ability as a storyteller encourages us to ponder the tale behind each artwork he creates.
Simmons names Leonardo da Vinci as one of his biggest influences and employs the Fibonacci spiral in each of his artworks to create perfect balance and harmony in each piece he creates. Combining the bold black lines associated with pop art with the hand-stencilled designs of graffiti, Between the Capes introduces street art concepts into the home.

All our artwork is made to order in Birmingham, UK, ensuring top quality. Please allow up to four weeks for delivery. Each piece is carefully crafted to meet our high standards.
If you order multiple artworks, they may arrive separately for efficiency.
Returns
We offer a 14-day cooling-off period so you can view the artwork in your home. If it's not right for you, we’ll collect it free of charge or you can return it to one of our galleries.

Silkscreen
Given Castle Fine Art's expertise as the UK's leading art retailer, we are committed to the highest standards, especially regarding printing. Believed to have originated as far back as 1000 years ago, silkscreen printing involves using a tightly stretched mesh or screen. The first step is to mount the silkscreens over your chosen canvas, with a separate screen for each colour. Once the screens or stencils are in place, artists roll, press, sponge or squeegee their ink or paint over the silkscreens to leave a design.

Rich Simmons
Creating from his Brighton studio, self-taught artist Rich Simmons fuses punk’s rebellious energy, the graphic clarity of comic books, and the immediacy of street culture into a style he dubs ‘Pop Punk’ Art - audacious, graphic and provocative. He shot to fame in 2011 with his Sid and Nancy–inspired twist on the royal wedding couple, and later with the global “Batman Kissing Superman” mural. His fearless visual commentary has since appeared in galleries from London to LA and in museum shows including Men of Steel, Women of Wonder at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

Yes, Castle Fine Art is based in the UK, but we ship internationally. All of our international orders are delivered via DHL.
To ensure a secure transit, every artwork is handled with utmost care. We take precautionary measures by using foam around the piece for added safety during transportation, and then the artwork(s) are packaged in double-walled, reinforced cardboard boxes that offer superior protection. All of this ensures that your artwork arrives safely.
Most artwork orders will need to be professionally mounted and framed before being dispatched, so delivery can take up to four weeks from the date you placed your order, but we do strive to deliver your order as soon as we can.
Books and gift cards are delivered within 2-3 working days. Please note, if multiple artworks are purchased within the same order, they may be delivered separately for efficient delivery.
The majority of our originals and limited editions are hand signed by the artist themselves. On some occasions where we have limited edition sculptures, this is hand written into the mould before production. If you're unsure, please contact us.
