Considered to be the ultimate masterpiece of surrealist, expressionist and cubist artist Paul Klee, this painting lends itself to his painting 'Ad Parnassum' which was painted in 1932. However, this interpretation by John Myatt also features deeper blue tones with accents of bright colours and is named after the German word for "Magic Night" which suggests it also borrows inspiration from paintings like 'Starry Night' by Vincent Van Gogh whose bright and magical night skies still light up museum and gallery walls today.
World-famous art forger now "Genuine Fakes" artist John Myatt turned to forgery after unexpectedly becoming a single father. Following his arrest by Scotland Yard who described his work as “the biggest art fraud of the 20th century”, John began painting masterpieces under his own name, giving people the chance to hang Monets and Van Goghs in their living room. The artist's incredible story is now being turned into a feature film of which some of his paintings will feature and can be bought here.
