Hand-signed Flatbed Giclée Limited Edition by Whatshisname.
In his 2026 instalment of the Gone series, Whatshisname introduces characters that are deeply tied to comfort and emotional growth. The utterly heart-warming monochrome artworks hold a cross-generational significance, as they portray pivotal characters in stories a lot of us grew up with and still carry into adulthood.
Acting as emotional anchors to simpler times, the affectionate nostalgia allows us to reflect on the influence of our youth on our future selves – we grow up and build our own relationships, perhaps inspired by the lessons we learned about friendship from these characters and films.
The second instalment in the Pixar's Toy Story franchise, Toy Story 2 is a 1999 animated adventure centred around Woody and Buzz Lightyear. It became one of the highest grossing films of the year and later won Best Motion Picture at the 57th Golden Globe Awards.
Instead of relying on detail, Whatshisname uses empty space, body language and muted colours to suggest the reflective emotions – turning ordinary moments into a deeper and meaningful connection between us and the characters.
Whatshisname was inspired to create the Gone series after dreaming about a figure from his youth. “They only appeared as a faded silhouette,” he remembers. “It felt like meeting with an old family member or a good friend who I hadn’t seen in a very long time. After waking up I could still remember the feeling, but I couldn’t remember who the person was, only a shadowy outline which could have been anyone.”
This artwork is a hand-signed flatbed Giclée limited edition on Moulin Du Roy not 300gsm Paper by Whatshisname.
This artwork is also available in a framed medium set.

The artist
Whatshisname
Unapologetically provocative, Whatshisname (aka Sebastian Burdon) fuses themes of childhood nostalgia and pop culture to create artworks that inspire happy and joyful feelings. His witty creative alias - inspired by his difficulty remembering artists' names - reflects his art, which has ruffled more than a few feathers in the industry.
