Dan Lane reinterprets Robert Indiana’s iconic ‘LOVE’ sculpture in hand painted stainless steel, infusing the classic Pop Art piece with his compelling blend of the dark and the light.
Indiana’s recognisable sculpture was created during Pop Art’s height and resonated with the era’s emphasis on peace, love and social change. The simple, yet bold, presentation of the sculpture made it accessible and universally understood, allowing it to transcend language and culture. Lane has instilled his reinterpretation of the sculpture with the feeling and philosophy of the original.
Replacing the ‘O’ with one of his signature stylised skulls, Lane gives this iconic Pop Art sculpture an edgy twist. Hand painted with a black gloss finish, the skull stands out from the bold red hand painted letters that frame it.

We offer a 14-day cooling-off period so you can view the artwork in your home. If it's not right for you, we’ll collect it free of charge or you can return it to one of our galleries.

Dan Lane
Dan Lane's works certainly have a contemporary, urban edge, but as an artist, he is hugely influenced by the Renaissance. He is inspired by the sculptures found in churches and cathedrals around the world, particularly the flamboyant styling of the Italian sculptor and architect Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the artist credited with creating the Baroque style of sculpture, and other Italian artistic geniuses Michelangelo and Antonio Canova.
Nature also influences Dan's art, with many pieces featuring flowers, insects, and birds. For his original 3D sculptures, Dan experiments with colours, finishes and textures. These include crushed glass, gold and silver leaf, marble, bronze, and glass diamonds.

Yes, Castle Fine Art is based in the UK, but we ship internationally. All of our international orders are delivered via DHL.
To ensure a secure transit, every artwork is handled with utmost care. We take precautionary measures by using foam around the piece for added safety during transportation, and then the artwork(s) are packaged in double-walled, reinforced cardboard boxes that offer superior protection. All of this ensures that your artwork arrives safely.
Most artwork orders will need to be professionally mounted and framed before being dispatched, so delivery can take up to four weeks from the date you placed your order, but we do strive to deliver your order as soon as we can.
Books and gift cards are delivered within 2-3 working days. Please note, if multiple artworks are purchased within the same order, they may be delivered separately for efficient delivery.
The majority of our originals and limited editions are hand signed by the artist themselves. On some occasions where we have limited edition sculptures, this is hand written into the mould before production. If you're unsure, please contact us.
