Why the Peaky Blinders?
Along with soil sourced from areas the Birmingham criminal gang frequented, the figures' clothing was handmade with layers of tissue and paper.
A stickler for detail, Nic crafted the accessories from vintage clothes and built the shed using an antique box originally made in 1915, during the Peaky Blinders' reign (1890s to 1930).
He says: “What's not to love? They stand for family and sticking together, no matter what comes your way. This sculpture is a little bit of theatre, with the Shelbys walking towards you together. I'd say it's as close to an original artwork as you can get!"
