This bubbling and bold original artwork forms part of the Bisaillon Brothers' Pop Collection. Conceived as an intermediary between iconic imagery and culture, the Pop Collection sees the brothers illustrate classical brands through a range of medium including resin, acrylic paint, graphic design and code; all of which feature in the above original. The latter involves Michael Bisaillon’s own trinary code which he applies as a comment on the conflict between digital and analogue in contemporary society.
The subject matter of this original is also exciting because it inherits a fascinating history of art and alcohol that can range from Caravaggio’s 16th century painting of the Greek God of Wine ‘Bacchus’, to Jeff Koon’s collaboration with Dom Pérignon. Most significantly, it inherits the brothers’ own inspiration Andy Warhol who collaborated with Absolut Vodka in the 1980s, famously blurring the line between artists and brands which the Bisaillon Brothers continue to push in their extraordinary artwork.
