The poem that inspired ‘Gravity’ is \u003cem\u003e“It is essential to find a balance in life. Many times that balance is achieved with the help of the people who surround us and hold us firmly to the ground, and without whom we would float into perdition.”\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOriginally starting out as a painter taking inspiration from Salvador Dali, Lorenzo Quinn then moved into creating figurative sculptures. He uses the techniques of the ancient lost-wax and bronze casting to mould his pieces, which lends itself well to the creation of his monumental sculptures.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHe begins by sculpting the model in clay or wax, which is then coated in plaster to ensure all the details are etched in at this stage. Once the plaster has been removed, the small details are added - making each limited-edition sculpture inherently unique. Layer by layer, the model is coated with liquid ceramic and sand until dry, ready for the molten metal to be poured inside.
