An original oil on glass by Richard Rowan
This beautiful original oil painting by Richard Rowan was inspired by the song 'On Thin Ice' by Hans Zimmer from the film The Dark Knight Rises. It features a spectrum of soft colours that change from warm to cool tones in hazy strokes resembling clouds. Framed in elegant black painted ayous wood, this piece also works well in most homes and is ideal to combine with other pieces to create an art wall.
Richard's sublime artworks are created through his own revered technique of reverse painting onto glass. Starting with the foreground before painting backwards until all he can see is the vague strokes of his background, Richard is able to capture minute details shading and a raw backdrop of richly coloured sky; preserved within the layers of paint on glass.
