Placed in their own little universe, Nic Joly's tiny characters offer viewers an intimacy akin to peering through the windows into a stranger's life. All of his figures are carved as originals in wire and plaster before being cast in solid bronze and painted by hand.

Speaking on this piece, he adds: "This is so close to my heart and who I am. People who love me have helped me to be proud of my cracks in so many ways. Our demons and darkness are a vital and beautiful part of our characters. Embrace the cracks, own them and let the world know – we are all in this together. We are all a bit broken, but it's okay."
