Michael Bisaillon says: “David Bowie was not only a groundbreaking musician, but a dedicated fashion follower. One of his most iconic looks was a Union Jack frock coat made for him by the British designer Alexander McQueen". Wearing said jacket in the photo depicted in this piece, the featured image is also known for being on the set of Man Who Fell To Earth in 1975.
American brothers Jeffrey and Michael Bisaillon combine their talents to create “uber-contemporary” works inspired by Pop Art. Influenced by artists like Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, the duo explore the pop culture of today and the mid-20th century. Their work incorporates a range of mediums, including canvas, wood, paint, pen, resin, spray paint, digital imagery and even building materials. The hidden code also incorporated into this piece translates to "DavidBowie" whilst the unique bottle cap canvas was made by moulding a solid sheet of resin that is then p[painted with a metallic coat.
