A set of two original concept drawings initialed by Jorgen Klubien from 'Monsters Inc.', 2001.
The now iconic characters of ‘Monsters Inc.’, including James. P. Sullivan, Mike Wazowski and Boo, went through countless redesigns over the five year-long production period. These original Disney concept drawings, titled after their original storyboard sequence codes, showcase two of the earliest designs of “Sully” and Mr Waternoose, signed by key Disney animation artist and writer Jorgen Klubien. The eventual design of Sully, covered in his instantly recognisable blue and purple spotted fur, meant that the animators had to create an entirely new computer programme to simulate the movement of fur and this ground-breaking new form of animation has been used and built upon ever since.
