Moved by news footage of the devastation caused by the recent Australian bushfires, Robert Oxley created this adorable painting, which is inspired by a real-life rescued koala. He has captured the gentle creature in his signature drip-effect style.
Anwen was rescued by the Koala Hospital in Port Macquarie after fires swept through New South Wales, destroying her home. Tragically, the koala is now considered an endangered species by many leading experts.
Robert says: "It's stories like this which inspire and encourage us to reach out and do what we can with what we have."
